This is one of my favorite spaces in the home. I love this home for so many different reasons, but this particular space has the most beautiful original architecture. So it was really exciting to be able to work with this space and choose new items that felt like they belonged here.
We were able to do these awesome custom built-ins that have an arched top to reflect the natural arches of the home and the arches that you see in the windows, doorways and ceiling. We were also able to continue that curve in some pieces like the sofa arms, the consoles and the lamps.
Being able to harmonize those shapes helps these pieces feel like they belong here, but they're still fun and fresh. The client had a lot of existing teal and blue items, so we were able to have that common thread throughout the space.
We kept it practical and usable with durable finishes and materials to accommodate their family, because they do have some young ones, and we were still able to make it feel elevated and beautiful.
